Tribal Eligibility for SRTS funding (Posted 9/14/2006 3:18:28 PM)
Tribes are evidently the only identifiable group to be excluded from the SRTS Program and must go through some other entity to access funding, i.e. a state or local planning organization or a non-profit organization. Have any tribes successfully submitted and received SRTS funding?

Arizona DOT recently called for applications for SRTS grants. The first round of SRTS will only include non-infrastructure projects. Project applications are to be reviewed by MPOs and COGs. Native American communities are eligible for these grants. More info at: http://www.azdot.gov/saferoutes/
